McKenzie® Jack O'Lantern — Approx. 17-20 sds/pkt. THE perfect Halloween pumpkin. Smooth, bright orange skin is firm and excellent for carving. With pumpkins averaging 4.5 kg (10 lbs), this versatile variety is also fine-grained and excellent for pies.
OSC® Connecticut Field — Approx. 20-25 sds/pkt. A well-known variety in Ontario, as a good processing pumpkin and is a standard variety for pies. Fruit has a deep orange skin and a thick, fine-grained, deep yellow, sweet flesh. This variety regularly produces 11 kg pumpkins up to 50 cm in diameter that are a flat globed shape with little ribbing. One of the oldest heirloom pumpkin varieties, as it has been grown since at least the early 1700’s. Approximately 120 days to harvest.
OSC® Big Max — Approx. 20 sds/pkt. Look for help when it’s time to bring these beauties in from the garden. “Big Max” lives up to his name by producing large pumpkins, reliably in the 20kg range. When growing conditions are ideal, this pumpkin will produce fruit that weighs more than 45kg, measuring 175 cm in diameter. Fruit tends to have a “flattened” appearance. The skin is pinkish-orange and very thick. Usually listed as C. maxima rather than C. pepo. Approximately 120 days to harvest.
