Burgess Buttercup — Approx. 25 seeds/pkt. Smaller fruit 1.5-2.0 kg in weight with thick, fibreless, orange, sweet-tasting flesh is the trademark of this variety. The skin is dark green with narrow grey stripes and slight mottling. Strong-growing vines that vary in shape. It seems growing conditions sometimes produce boxy-shaped fruits, and at other times they can be similar in shape to an acorn. An interesting-looking, very richly flavoured squash.
Spaghetti — Approx. 20 seeds/pkt. An interesting novelty squash producing medium-sized oblong fruit on normal-sized vines. Boil the mature fruit for 20 minutes, open, remove the seeds, fluff out the flesh with a fork and season with salt, pepper and butter. Its name, given by the plant breeder, is in fact Vegetable Spaghetti!
Table Queen or Acorn — Approx. 20 sds/pkt. The hard, dark green, deeply ribbed acorn-shaped fruits are roughly 15cm (6") in diameter with smooth, hard skin. The pale yellow flesh is exceedingly sweet and meaty, rivalling that of the sweet potato!
Waltham Butternut — Approx. 20 seeds/pkt. An excellent squash, weighing on average 1.5-2.3 kg. Creamy-yellow coloured fruit has a small seed cavity and a bulbous end with solid, smooth skin and deep orange flesh. A large, vigorous growing vine and heavy producer. The already great taste will improve with storage.
