Beard-tongues are native North American wildflowers. This selection was developed for the dark foliage and excellent cold hardiness. Plants form a low clump of deep eggplant foliage, with upright spikes appearing in early summer. The tubular flowers are lilac purple with a white centre. Dark burgundy seed pods follow the flowering period.
