Blazing Star 'Floristan Violet'

Also known as Gayfeather. Widely grown as a commercial cut flower, this is selected from one of our native prairie wildflowers. Plants form low clumps of grassy looking leaves, bearing tall spikes of bright magenta purple flowers beginning in midsummer. Very useful in the sunny border or meadow garden, or in containers. Drought tolerant. Perennial.
